Sloane Understands (Paperback) (ISBN-13: 9798991363419)

Sloane is excited to spend the summer at the beach. It's a magical place full of colorful seashells, bright sunshine, and warm sand she can dig her toes into. But along with her happiness and curiosity, Sloane starts to experience other feelings too: sadness, anger, confusion, and how overwhelming all of those are.

As Sloane struggles to identify her different emotions, a friendly wave rolls up to shore and senses her plight. With the wave's help, Sloane examines her feelings, where they come from, and what to do about them when they're bad. It's important to learn to understand how you feel-because all feelings are okay, as long as you listen to what you need to take care of yourself.

Sloane Understands is an insightful tale that shows children how we teach one another through friendship and introspection, but it also belongs in the realm of stories that can help everyone. We all struggle with the bad sometimes, but there's good to be found among it if you know where to look. And when you find the light that lives inside you, you can use it to brighten the world around you too.
