Cork Graham received international notoriety in 1983 as an 18-year-old photojournalist, and US Naval Reserve midshipman, captured and imprisoned by the Socialist Rep. of Vietnam for 11 months while photographing a clandestine treasure hunt and reports of American MIAs lost in Indochina in 1975. This story became the subject of his first international bestselling memoir, THE BAMBOO CHEST: An Adventure in Healing the Trauma of War. Soon after his release from Vietnam, he was in Central America continuing his career as a photojournalist. He is the second American to have completed the Salvadoran Navy Special Forces course.
