I started life as a conservative, being enraptured by Reagan's stated philosophies of small government and self-reliance. Over time, I have watched that conservative ideology turn into a vicious beast that has fixated upon two primary goals: 1.) Turning America into a Christian theocracy, and 2.) Using whatever governmental power and violence are necessary to maximize the profits of the rich and superrich. Since this is the new face of "conservatism" in America, I want nothing to do with it. The fascists have taken over and I will neither help them, nor stand by idly. Instead, I want to try and help expose the new conservatism for the evil and virulent authoritarianism and fascism that it is. The Founding Fathers believed in individual freedom to live one's life unfettered by religious and governmental mandates, and that government existed to protect the Nation from external threats and promote individual liberty.
