Solace Enough (Paperback) (ISBN-13: 9781067782207)

Photographer Austin Roberts and his friend Helen Ramirez set out on a road trip, leaving their small East Texas town for New York City. In Brooklyn, they open a photography studio and hope it will be a fresh start, far from the losses and betrayals in their shared past.

Helen and Austin build a chosen family with Isabella, a trans woman making a life on her own terms, and Fabiola, a museum curator in an unhappy marriage. As Austin slowly opens himself to love, builds his creative world, and tries to shape a life beyond obligation, Helen slips further into the patterns that have always haunted her, threatening the fragile world they're trying to make together.

Austin is desperate to save Helen and hold onto their friendship, even when it threatens his career and personal life. As she spirals deeper into addiction and starts acting in ways that endanger her life, one of them must make a choice.

A story of art, grief and what happens when what you're trying to outrun catches up with you, Solace Enough is an exploration of life, loss and the price we pay for love.
