Mary Penich is a native of Chicago's West Side who now resides in Lake County, Illinois. She is a retired teacher and administrator whose inspirational writing has been published locally for many years. These pieces include more than 900 articles for the St. Paul Messenger and submissions to Family Time, a pull-out of the Lake County News-Sun Newspaper, and the Carmelite Review Magazine. Mary published her first children's book, I DON'T LIKE MICE, in 2009. She is most grateful for the opportunity to share her spiritual journey and her childhood adventures through her writing. Mary and her husband, Mike, have two wonderful sons, the best daughters-in-law they could have hoped for and three beautiful granddaughters.
