SoulSighted: Vampire Vexations (Paperback) (ISBN-13: 9798991005739)

Alexander Hope used to win trials with a voice that could bend a courtroom to his will. Then one impossible verdict shattered his life, severed him from the world of Fae and the courtroom, and left him with something far more dangerous than his Fae talent: the Sight.

Now Hope sees what no one else can: the pulse of doubt in a jury, the sickness of a vampire's spirit, and the hidden threads tying old enemies together. In his world, law is not just a profession. Every lawyer is a creature of spirit, every courtroom is a battleground, and the Fae are the ultimate power.

When a powerful vampire judge wakes up missing a hand, the Courts drag Hope out of exile and into a case that should be simple. Find the hand. Prevent a political disaster. Try not to die before Monday.

But nothing in the supernatural justice system is simple. Vampire factions are sharpening their teeth and demanding judicial equality, Dark Fae power players are moving inside the courts, and everyone seems to know more about the impact of Hope's choice than he does. In addition his Fae fiancé is embroiled in the political turmoil, his ex-human lover is the vampire investigator assigned to the case, and he's working with a human detective he has unrealized feelings for.

The balance between the worlds of the spirit, body, and soul is beginning to crack. If Hope cannot recover what was stolen, the balance may collapse, and the war waiting beneath the law may finally have its day in court.

For readers who like their urban fantasy sharp-edged, law-soaked, and dangerous, this is a case where magic has rules, monsters are lawyers, and justice bites back.
