Mira Peck grew up in postwar Poland. At 16, she emigrated with her family to Australia, where she became the first woman at her university to graduate with a chemical engineering degree. Since professional jobs were limited for women in early 1970s Australia, she followed her American husband to the USA. Here she launched a career that culminated in the vice-presidency of a major global corporation. Mira has traveled to over 40 countries on all continents. In addition to her affinity for science, she studied music and plays the piano. Her poetry and prose have appeared in a number of publications. She and her husband are raising two teenage children.
