Sovereign Knight (Paperback) (ISBN-13: 9798188871710)

For centuries, the Concord Fleet has preserved an uneasy peace among the Twelve Houses.

Captain Teren Vaust has spent his career defending that peace. Then the CFS Resolute is sent to investigate the wreckage surrounding Orthex.

The debris should be ancient. Some of it is not.

Sensor records contradict one another. Familiar systems behave in impossible ways. Something hidden within the wreckage understands Concord procedures well enough to turn them against the officers following them.

Vaust returns with evidence no House wants examined and no government can safely acknowledge. The official investigation falls to Cyrene Oris, an Oryn archive-intelligence specialist whose career depends upon protecting the accepted historical record.

But the record does not match what happened at Orthex.

As political pressure closes around Resolute and its crew, Vaust and Cyrene are forced to choose between the institutions they served and a truth powerful enough to fracture the Concord.

Humanity's past was not forgotten.

It was deliberately buried.
