Dane is a Consultant physician in Sport and Exercise and the vice chair of Education for the British association of sport and exercise medicine (BASEM). He is currently the clinical lead of the MSc in Sport and Exercise Medicine at the University of Leeds and the training programme Director for SEM higher specialist training in Yorkshire and Humber. Clinically, Dane works for the military, NHS, YSM Clinic and in professional sport.
