Tami Whitmore has spent a lifetime raising kids, teaching kids, babysitting kids, and playing with kids. Then when the grandkids came along she spent hours and hours with them reading books, exploring nature, watching movies that were not PG-13, and teaching them to cook. Now her time is spent attending their sporting events and trying to squeeze a little one-on-one Grandma-time into their busy schedules. After the kids were grown she opened a children's bookstore, another life-long dream come true. But what she has always wanted to do and finally got to do was write and publish books. She started making books at home for the grandkids and gave them as Christmas gifts. But when her daughter-in-law, Erin saw 'Meadowlark Park", her book about favorite backyard birds, she encouraged Tami to get it published. That was the start of a new adventure and she writes and self-publishes books through Create Space, having written 30 books so far with ideas for 50 more. Check out her second children's book about birds that live on the Long Beach Peninsula entitled 'Beach Birds'. She is also looking forward to publishing the many travel books she created for the grandkids every time they went on a vacation together. Her advice to you would be: remember to spend all the time you can with your own kids and grandkids because they grow up so very, very fast.
