Sri Siddharameshwar Maharaj - Masters of the One
The Way of the Ant and the Way of the Bird
What remains when a Master does not seek disciples? When he does not found schools, ask for followers, or build institutions-yet still transforms the life of anyone who meets him?
This book is the first volume in the Masters of the One series, dedicated to the great realized ones of the spiritual Tradition. It begins with a figure as silent as he is powerful: Sri Siddharameshwar Maharaj, the guru of Nisargadatta and one of the clearest voices of Advaita Vedānta in the twentieth century.
Born in India in 1888, Siddharameshwar Maharaj never sought recognition and never attempted to formalize a lineage. Yet his words became living seeds-capable of taking root decades later. His teachings, recorded by his disciples, remain among the most essential and direct in the Indian non-dual tradition.
This volume explores:
- His essential life and the possible connection with the legendary Council of Nine-a myth that blends wisdom and secret transmission;
- The teaching passed to Nisargadatta Maharaj, including the direct initiation and the statement: "You are the Absolute";
- The spiritual distinction between the way of the ant and the way of the bird-keys that still guide sincere seekers today.
The second part of the book presents a selection faithfully adapted from Master Key to Self-Realization, a public domain text where the Master's voice speaks with naked clarity and uncompromising power. His words do not explain-they dissolve.
A sober, essential book.
Free of myth-making, devoted only to the fire of truth.
