Right-wing American commie-fighters, corrupt CIA officials, President Marcos's henchmen, ruthless bandits, rebel soldiers, and old enemies conspire against and collide with Steel as he and his compatriots go for the gold. Even a WWII Japanese Army officer, unaware of his country's surrender forty years earlier, launches guerrilla assaults on Steel's jungle treks.
