Dr. Carl Verge was born in a village in Newfoundland. He received his schooling in classrooms typical of those mentioned in this book. A one room school did not dissuade him from receiving an education. He was able to accomplish a diversity of learning, including a PhD from New York University. His career life was equally diverse: pastor, school teacher, College president, educational consultant and more, spread over forty countries and sixty years. He and his wife Marion dedicated their lives not just to their own generation, but to those who came after. They live in Cobourg, Ontario.
