She has worked as program director for adolescent outpatient services at a major psychiatric hospital in the Chicago area, as well as maintaining a private psychotherapy practice. Fennell, the mother of five, has worked with countless victims, their families and friends, and has incorporated this wealth of experience and knowledge into her writing in order to promote healing to those outside her reach.
