StrokeWize Words for Recovery: Accessible education and progressive word search challenges to support cognition and language recovery. (Paperback) (ISBN-13: 9781806451739)

StrokeWize: Words for Recovery is a stroke education workbook that combines accessible health information with progressive word search puzzles to support cognition, language, confidence, and active participation in recovery.

Created by Asif Patel, a Clinical Lead for Stroke and Neurosciences Therapies with over 20 years of experience supporting stroke survivors, this workbook helps readers learn the language of stroke recovery one word at a time.

Across 50 topics and five progressive levels, each spread pairs clear, plain-English stroke education with a topic-specific word search puzzle. The book moves from the early days of stabilisation through brain healing, rehabilitation, emotional adjustment, daily life, prevention, and life ahead.

Inside, readers will find accessible stroke education, graded word search challenges, MDT-focused rehabilitation topics, reflection prompts, solutions, and a clinical glossary with plain-English definitions and pronunciation support. QR code audio narration is also included in English for readers who may find reading difficult, tiring, or frustrating after stroke.

This workbook is designed for stroke survivors, families, carers, rehabilitation teams, stroke units, community services, and anyone looking for a calm, meaningful way to build understanding during recovery.

A stroke education workbook created to complement care, not replace it.
