Strong: Grief, art and life observations (Paperback) (ISBN-13: 9798351176130)

This book is very personal. It has self exploration, grief, happiness and observations on life. Sharing something so personal with the world is daunting and makes me feel vulnerable, but my experience has taught me so much. You will cry and also hopefully smile.

Over the past few years I have dealt with some major losses. Recently I started to document my journey, my feelings in loose poetry and paintings. Before, I never really understood the act of creating from pain and trauma. Through my art and writing I have put my emotions out there for all to view. As the words were flowing out of me like my many tears, it was cathartic. A burden was lifted by being honest with myself.

Creating has gotten me through this difficult time and maybe it will help others too. My original artwork accompanies each poem. The style is influenced by PIcasso, Seurat, Van Gogh and O'Keefe. There are lots of bright colors and movement in the pieces. Creating has been the one constant that keeps me sane. Having such an outlet is a blessing that not everyone has.

Hopefully my openness will help others to deal with the ups and downs of life. Grab a tissue, and thank you for taking the time to read my book.
