Substantially Equivalent (Paperback) (ISBN-13: 9798996766000)

New York homeschooling has a reputation for being difficult. Really, it's just badly explained.

Substantially Equivalent breaks down the paperwork, deadlines, assessments, high school requirements, common compliance issues, and the situations that tend to send parents spiraling through Facebook groups at midnight.

You don't need to memorize the educational law. You need to know what the state requires, what your district can ask for, and what to do when something doesn't make sense.

Substantially Equivalent walks you through the process from top to bottom, including the Letter of Intent, IHIP, Quarterly Reports, Annual Assessment, and recordkeeping, all to keep you compliant with Section 100.10. You'll see practical examples so that you aren't staring at a blank page wondering what you're supposed to submit the night before the deadline.

This book is the process in plain English and, more importantly, the strategies to implement that will keep you from drowning in paperwork. The goal is simple: check the boxes and get back to homeschooling.
