Her mother immigrated to America in 1948 from Avesta, Sweden while her father's family immigrated from V?rmland, Sweden in the early 1900's. She used to work as a technical writer for an international consulting firm. Karen has advocated for quality education and has organized fundraisers for local non-profits supporting the homeless and the elderly. She lives in New Hampshire with her husband and has three adult children.
