The political spectrum you were taught is wrong.

Left and right don't explain anything. The same policy is "leftist" in one decade and "rightist" in the next. Free speech was the left's cause; now it's the right's. The categories track means while ignoring purposes - and purposes are what matter.

This book proposes a single question as the root of all political division: Does history have a finish line?

Two answers generate two complete logics. The Blueprint worldview - history has a knowable endpoint - demands vanguard knowledge, centralized power, intermediary destruction, cultural synchronization, and teleological ethics: if the endpoint is infinite good, any finite cost is justified. The Principle worldview - history evolves without terminus - demands epistemic humility, distributed power, intermediary protection, cultural diversity, and deontological constraints: no infinite good means means must be constrained.

The framework yields conclusions that cut against every conventional assumption:

"Extreme right" is a logical impossibility. Principle positions cannot extremify - guarding evolution harder just makes wiser Principle. Any true extremification becomes Blueprint. Nazism wasn't extreme right but extreme left: ideal endpoint, temporal arrest, comprehensive transformation, intermediary destruction, teleological ethics - six Blueprint features. The postwar reclassification insulated left ideology from its catastrophic twin.

Neoconservatism is not conservative. Its founders were Trotskyists who swapped content while keeping world-transformation logic. Iraq was a Blueprint catastrophe executed under a stolen label - and genuine conservatives who opposed it were ignored.

DEI is race-essentialism in new clothes. Redefining "racism" as prejudice+power (excluding minority racism) and "anti-racism" as race-consciousness produces a system that essentializes race, pursues race-based endpoints, and demands institutional synchronization - mirroring historical racism with inverted content. Kendi: "the only remedy for past discrimination is present discrimination." Blueprint logic applied to race.

"Unity" is a weapon. Demanding unity means manufacturing what doesn't exist organically - suppressing internal debate, punishing dissent as "divisive." Solidarity accommodates disagreement; manufactured unity requires compliance. The question is never "why don't we have unity?" but "who benefits from demanding it?"

The words you fight over mean opposite things to each side. Freedom, equality, justice, rights, democracy - each fragments along temporal lines. Negative liberty (freedom from) vs. positive liberty (freedom to realize an ideal - Jacobins and DEI both "force people to be free"). Opportunity vs. outcome equality. Procedural vs. distributive justice. Negative vs. positive rights (Nozick: positive rights are "spurious" - fulfilling them violates someone else's). Democracy as mechanism vs. ideology. Same vocabulary, opposed meanings.

The pattern is consistent: Blueprint demands synchronization; Principle protects asynchronous evolution. ∞/F = ∞ - infinite good divided by finite cost always equals infinite justification. That equation produced the Great Purges, the Holocaust, the Killing Fields. It is producing quieter versions now.
