Joe Rollstone is the nom de plume of the author who began a career as a Queensland Ambulance Officer in 1984. During 1988/89 he was stationed at a small Aboriginal Community in Central Queensland where he came up with the idea of writing a novel about his life as an Ambulance Officer blended with lore of the Australian Aboriginal medicine man. This came to fruition in his second novel, A Willywilly called Doctor Muckeye. This book is a virtual follow on with the old man having passed on his healing powers to his granddaughter Tahni.
