Tender Offers - Book One: Building an Empire (Paperback) (ISBN-13: 9781549840616)

This book is a first of a two book series. Set in Beverly Hills, California it is the story of a onetime B actor, Stanford Wentz, who forms an unlikely partnership with his unprincipled agent, Aaron Rose, to build the Stanford Wentz Cosmetics Company. The entertainment and business worlds collide in a cutthroat Industry where beauty is marketed like a commodity. Through unscrupulous and ruthless deals, the company is propelled to the limelight of Wall Street by Aaron Rose, the driving force who is willfully cold-blooded. Stanford Wentz, willfully ignorant, goes along for the ride. The curtain is lifted to expose the hype of the slick world of advertising where sales, Image and consumer perception are the only things that matter. Set in the artificial world of beauty, the corporate executives are willing to do anything for money. It is a fast-moving suspense thriller, filled with corporate politics, intrigue, legal maneuverings, litigation and murder to show the world behind the image. Most of all, it is a lawyer's story. It shows how corporate lawyers become willing and able assistants in the rule bending dictated by business necessity. It is a story about building the cosmetics empire, and about money, agreed and unbridled ambition.
