The 20: The Coldest Darkness Boards A City Bus (Paperback) (ISBN-13: 9781452812892)

Patrick, a dutiful and beloved city bus driver begins his route with his usual load of customers with issues. As The 20 trolls through a dangerous ghetto, readers see and hear the angst of his riders through the thoughts of Bill Best, a recently dishonorably dismissed Army munitions expert. As this bright autumn day unfolds, the route is abruptly changed by the announcement of a simple detour. It is this detour that brings "the coldest darkness" on board The 20. The ugliest unthinkable violence is unleashed upon Patrick and his defenseless riders. In this whirlwind of death there is a predictable diffusion of responsibility, tugging at the psychology of the bi-stander effect. The tidal wave of aftermath spins the community into a vortex of fear and frustration. Eventually, as the local police seemingly give up on the investigation, those who have suffered so much can no longer saute in the skillet of victimization. They demand action of themselves. Step on board, sit in a safe aisle seat close to the doors, and watch what this group of ordinary people do to find revenge. You will be amazed.
