Rachel Kenyata Armour, better known as "RK" is the principal of RK Armour Consulting. Since the age of 15, she has been a paid motivational speaker, working with school districts across the U.S. RK earned her B.A. degree from Wilberforce University, majoring in mass media communications. In 2003, she was recognized and honored in Advertising Age Magazine's article, "Presenting 25 Superstars," as the nation's 25 most promising minority students in advertising. Eleven years later, she is making Black history as a rising star and entrepreneur providing job opportunities to youth and ex-felons, as featured on ABC Channel 7 News "Celebrating Black History" special. Her free and low-cost products and services are designed to empower the community by teaching grant-writing skills to small businesses and start-ups. In 2013, she was selected as a semi-finalist out of 2,800 applicants for the Black Male Achievement fellowship, a $70,000 start-up grant offered by Echoing Green. RK is the 2009 winner of the Avon Hello Tomorrow Fund $5,000 start-up grant for her literacy and public speaking program for girls in Bahama Village, Key West, Florida. RK is currently seeking partnerships with local businesses to provide workshops, seminars, and job training to the Chicago community and beyond.
