A few summers back, our family took a "Grand Tour" of the United States. We learned about one state per day, all summer long. Our Tour was organized by the order in which states entered the Union. So, we started with the first state (Delaware) and took it from there. We tackled Washington DC and the US territories after the last state (Hawaii). As a whole, our project contained a little bit of everything - geography, geology, economics, history, civics, trivia and popular culture.
