INTRODUCTION

This book, The Ancestors was written to x-ray the genealogy of man, its importance, and affirm the imperfections of men and women of old who instituted the rules and laws of the tradition's mankind adheres to in our modern world.

It emphasizes the limitations of the Ancestors, viz-a-viz the information available at their disposal, compared with modern developmental changes and discoveries.

I personally believe most of the Ancestors would have done many things differently, if they had the information available to mankind today. And as such would have adopted different traditional practices as necessary.

Therefore, adherent to ancient traditions, which does not glorify God Almighty needs to be reviewed.

More so, Ancestral worships is idolatry, which is worship to imperfect and limited spirits, -instead of worshipping the Omnipotent, Omnipresent, and Omniscient God, -who existed before creations, and created all thing. I did not see wisdom in worshiping the spirit of the created; instead of the Creator of all things Himself.

Some say their ancestral worship is a channel of communications with the Almighty. And, I say to them, you cannot arrive at a right destination, while on a wrong route. Especially when the Bible expressly expresses the expectation of the Almighty in clear terms in the following verses of the Bible:

Exodus 20:3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me. 4 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: 5 Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me; 6 And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.
