Henry C Lu is a licensed doctor of traditional Chinese medicine (DTCM) in British Columbia, Canada. He received his Ph.D. degree from the University of Alberta, Edmonton, Canada and taught at the University of Alberta and the University of Calgary between 1968 and 1971 and has practiced Chinese medicine since 1972. In 1986 Dr. Lu founded the distinguished College of Traditional Chinese Medicine of Vancouver. He believed that if traditional Chinese medicine and acupuncture is going to take root in the Western world, it is not sufficient to practice it, it is also necessary to spread the knowledge of it to the Western people by means of education. The International College of Traditional Chinese Medicine of Vancouver has built, throughout the years, the richest TCM program resources in the Western world. Dr. Lu also teaches traditional Chinese medicine by correspondence. His students live in many countries, including the United States, Canada, England, Australia, Sweden, Italy, Germany, France, New Zealand, Switzerland, Mexico, and Japan. Dr. Lu has translated and published a few dozens of books in traditional Chinese medicine. Dr. Lu's complete translation of The Yellow Emperor's Classics of Internal Medicine, known as Nei-Jing in Chinese, marks a historic advance in the study of traditional Chinese medicine and acupuncture in the Western world. This classic is the first and primary classic of traditional Chinese medicine and acupuncture, and it is the source of inspiration in the development of TCM. The Classic had effectively guided clinical practice and is held in great esteem by all Chinese physicians for over two thousand years since its publication.
