Bruce Elliott has had a lifelong love affair with the B&O Railroad. Starting in the early 1970s, he decided to photograph what he could of the entire railroad in 12 of the "13 Great States" where it operated. Between 1965 and 1990, he traveled the expanse of the system, taking well over 8,500 photographs, including those within these covers. Elliott's inspiration comes from his father, an amateur photographer who introduced him to industrial photography--specifically, the railroads.
