John Trussell, B.S. Criminal Justice, Georgia Southern University; M.Ed., University of Ga, is an award winning Outdoor Writer, having published both in print and online more than 1,000 articles over the last 30 plus years. He has received many awards from the Georgia Outdoor Writers Association and Southeastern Outdoor Press for writing and photography. He is past President of the Georgia Outdoor Writers Association . He writes regularly for Georgia Outdoor News, Georgia Game and Fish and several other magazines. He has been actively involved in many conservation projects and was the founder of Save Oaky Woods, was a member of the land search committee for Flat Creek Public Fishing Area, served on The Go Fish Education Center Advisory Board and led the effort to rebuild the Houston County Boat Ramp park, now known as Knowles Landing. In 2015 he was inducted into the Georgia Outdoor Writers Hunting and Fishing Hall of Fame, which is housed in the Charlie Elliot Wildlife Center. He has also had an active career in Law Enforcement while fishing and hunting across the USA whenever possible.
