Is the biblical description of the Creation found in Genesis 1:1-2:3 hopelessly at odds with what we know from science about the universe and planet Earth as many people today believe? Absolutely not! In fact there is a high degree of conformity between the biblical narrative and the scientific evidence. How then did such widespread misunderstanding come about? Possibly the best answer is that there is no simple, clear statement of how the biblical account meshes with scientific facts.
