Hugh McClintock, the author of Cooper Greens, spent months in nursing homes - not as an observer, but as a resident. To get in, he allowed himself to be hit by a car as he was walking across a street. But for Hugh, no sacrifice is too great. While recovering, he observed happenings seldom seen by outsiders. Cooper Greens, he assures, is not a feel-good story about old folk facing the end-game of life; it is, however, an honest, humorous account of their circumstances. Hugh earned a BA at Allegheny College and a BSEE at Carnegie Mellon University. He held sundry engineering jobs and several everyday duties until he retired. A widower, he lives in Meadville, Pa.
