While perhaps not as incontrovertible as certain contemporary reviews claimed, Lieutenant-Commander Rupert T. Gould's compilation and analysis of significant and credible sea-serpent accounts is still considered an important classic investigation into marine monster phenomena. It remains a useful volume for the cryptozoological library.
