In August of 1868, Ellen White had what she called "an impressive dream" and it was subsequently recorded as "Travelling the Narrow Way" in her book Life Sketches (p.190). It was also recorded in Volume 2 of the Testimonies to the Church (p.594). The dream showed a group travelling a path along the face of a cliff towards an unknown goal. Eventually their path came to an abrupt end at a steep and treacherous chasm with no way over except for ropes let down from above. She ended the telling of her dream by stating "This dream needs no comment." But for over 150 years, the dream has been frequently misunderstood.
