The Chief Cause Of This And Other Depressions (Hardcover) (ISBN-13: 9781258009090)

The book ""The Chief Cause Of This And Other Depressions"" is written by Leonard P. Ayres. The book is a comprehensive analysis of the causes of economic depressions, with a particular focus on the Great Depression of the 1930s. The author argues that the primary cause of economic depressions is the unequal distribution of wealth and income in society. Ayres suggests that when a small group of people control a large portion of the wealth, there is a lack of demand for goods and services, which leads to a decline in economic activity. The book also examines the role of government in preventing economic depressions. Ayres argues that government intervention is necessary to ensure a fair distribution of wealth and income, and to stabilize the economy during times of crisis. The author provides a detailed analysis of various government policies and programs that can be used to promote economic stability and reduce inequality.Overall, ""The Chief Cause Of This And Other Depressions"" is a thought-provoking and insightful book that provides a historical perspective on economic depressions and offers practical solutions for preventing future crises. It is a must-read for anyone interested in economics, politics, and social justice. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
