The Closing Rite: A Dark Adult Romantasy of Forbidden Futures, Broken Magic, Chosen Love and a Final Rite (Paperback) (ISBN-13: 9798190670332)

Every bell has stopped. Forty-three doors are closing from the other side.

The Closing Rite has begun.

Across Lorian, thousands of people awaken marked as Voice, Witness or Hand, while the roads that once returned the forgotten disappear without warning.

But the people beyond the doors are not asking to be rescued.

They are holding something inside.

Beneath Veylorn waits the First Opening, an ancient wound capable of selecting one possible world and denying every life that might have existed instead. Now it has learned to choose for itself.

Streets remember histories that never happened. Dead children return with memories of kingdoms that no longer exist. Future cities demand control of the present because their survival depends upon decisions nobody living has made yet.

Then Alric returns.

Alive in another Lorian, carrying the face and grief of the husband Davina buried, he forces her to confront a future in which Kiernan obeyed the Crown's command and killed her.

The First Opening offers Davina everything she has ever lost.

Her mother's memories.

Her dead husband.

A peaceful home with Kiernan.

Even the possibility of the child they are both afraid to want.

Every offer carries the same price.

Choose one future and make every other life less real.

Davina refuses.

To save Lorian without turning another person into a sacrifice, Davina and Kiernan must enter the Closing Rite, break the authority of the old magical roles and end the power that allows one answer to become permanent for everyone.

But closing the wound may cost Davina every door she can open and Kiernan the magical road that always leads him back to her.

This time, love cannot promise certainty.

It can only ask again tomorrow.

The Closing Rite is the epic final book in The Cursekeeper's Bride, featuring a powerful widowed heroine, a fallen royal guard, alternate realities, forbidden futures, a returned husband, a possible future child, devastating romantic choices and a hard won ending built upon consent rather than sacrifice.
