Ellie can't help except wonder about the future when the world is being devastated by war and deadly influenza. Would the boys return home? Would they be different? Would her relationship with Henry survive the long separation? With only letters from the boys to cling to in amid an uncertain and perilous time, Ellie knows things will never be the same.
