Cioré Taylor is a student at the University of Oklahoma majoring in Mechanical Engineering and receiving a minor in African American Studies. She is passionate about helping others to improve the lens in which they see the world and she loves the thrill of a honest dialogue. Cioré was born during September in St. Louis, Missouri to Corey Sr. and Shantele Taylor. She has 3 younger siblings, Amaris, Corey Jr. and Shianne and she aspires to make them all proud. Cioré enjoys spending time with family, writing, traveling, and mentoring others around her. During her college experience, she has interned three times with Shell Oil Company and once with Toyota Motor Manufacturing Company. She spent 5 months studying abroad in Arezzo, Italy where she travelled to Ireland and Netherlands. She also devoted much of her time to mentoring several younger students through Alpha Omicron Pi Sorority, the Multicultural Engineering Program, the Black Student Association and the National Society of Black Engineers. Cioré truly believes change happens when people give back into their community. Cioré desires to challenge those who read her words to think about the change they can contribute to their own lives and communities. The Conversation Starts Here is the first of many books Cioré plans to publish focusing on topics that are hard to tackle. Lastly, she looks forward to the change she will be able to promote through her writing and the lives that she will be able to touch through not only her words but her actions.
