In the beginning stages of his incarceration, things were very difficult for him. I would imagine that it is hard for anyone to adjust to the hell he describes prison to be. He explained that there must be extreme levels of strength exercised to stay focused and not go crazy. With us all working with him, he adjusted and focused in for instruction. From the beginning, Skeet and I stressed to Dre the significance of education, Manhood, individualism and independence coupled with the idea of applying all studies into the Realities of his existence. Minister Anna Parham - his Mom, stressed the significance of spirituality, principle and faith in conjunction with everything we stressed. Together, we supported - and still do support him, while watching him blossom into the prestigious teacher and servant he is still learning to become. One of the most prominent attributes displayed through Dre's development was his zeal to learn and know self, as this became a proportionate basis of his educational quest. There came the confidence and maturity of Love for himself. Love for himself, began to translate through his intentions; and he then wanted all to learn what he was learning. As he began to master the Art of Writing, he started expressing the importance of Knowing and learning Self through the art of poetry, novelty and essay. Seeing that the messages were hard to promote in those specific fields of writing, he readjusted his plans. Informing me of his vision, I encouraged him to stay consistent and relentless in his labor of writing educational data, geared towards helping to save our youth from the rising problems currently facing them. His vision surrounded the blessing of going through hell, surviving the many complications experienced physically, psychologically, spiritually, socially and emotionally, and being given the gift of writing to testify change being attainable even under the most trying and complicated circumstances. Education of what is Real was his goal.
