Rinchindorji is a senior researcher at the Institute for Ethnic Literature (IEL) of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences in Beijing, a flag unit for epic studies. He studied in Mongolia in his early years and after returning to China, has been engaged during his whole life in research on folk literature and epic studies in well-known institutions at home and abroad.
