Jim Darrough has been writing professionally for over 45 years. He has been active in the article market, providing a variety of magazines with human interest stories, outdoor articles, and pieces of historical interest. In addition, Jim continues to author many children's books in which he places emphasis on "noble values for young minds," reiterating ideals of honesty, courage, kindness, confidence and love of country to his young readers. He also enjoys writing "cowboy poetry," and performing his humorous tales at cowboy gatherings. Jim currently has three books in progress, including a sequel to "THE DRAGON PROFESSOR;" a new series of kid's books, and also, as a 33 year wilderness survival instructor for the sheriff's department, he is incorporating his experience into a wilderness survival book. Jim has a bachelor's degree from the University of Nevada Reno, and he is a 5th generation Nevadan, hailing from a pioneer mining and ranching family. His wife, Sherry, is also a Silver State native. They live near Lake Tahoe, close to their 4 grown sons and their families, where they enjoy most of what their beautiful state has to offer; hunting, fishing, quading, camping, hiking, canoeing, and outdoor cooking.
