The Dragon Who Couldn't Cool Down: Cozy Forest Short Stories for Animal Lovers: A Social Emotional Learning Book Ages 6-8 for Anger Management & Emoti (Paperback) (ISBN-13: 9798188125677)

Is your child struggling with big emotions that seem to boil over in an instant?

Meet Barnaby. He's a bearded dragon who lives among the giant redwoods of Fernwood Glen. Barnaby is fast, creative, and loves building pinecone racetracks. But he also has a very short fuse. When a race goes wrong and his friend Pip the Squirrel accidentally crashes, Barnaby feels the "sizzle"-a hot, roaring heat that starts in his chest and puffs up his throat. Before he knows it, he lets out a loud roar that frightens his forest friends.

The Dragon Who Couldn't Cool Down is a warm, comforting early reader book that teaches children how to recognize anger in their bodies and cool down before they react.

What's Inside:

• A Cozy, Welcoming Forest World: Join Barnaby, Hattie the Hedgehog, and Pip the Red Squirrel as they navigate friendship, mistakes, and learning to grow together.

• The "Cool-Down Breeze" Technique: A simple, physical breathing tool (based on deep belly breathing) that children can easily remember and use on their own when they feel their anger rising.

• Designed for Early Readers: Divided into short, manageable chapters with generous spacing, making it perfect for children ages 6-8, beginning readers, and classroom read-alouds.

• SEL Discussion Prompts: Includes conversation starters at the back of the book to help parents, educators, and counselors talk about anger, conflict, and forgiveness.

Perfect For:

• Parents seeking gentle, positive-parenting tools for managing anger and frustration.

• Teachers, school counselors, and therapists looking for engaging social-emotional learning (SEL) resources.

• Little animal lovers who adore bearded dragons, woodland creatures, and rich nature stories.

• Bedtime stories, classroom reading circles, or independent reading practice.

Help your child discover that anger isn't a "bad" feeling-it's just a big, hot feeling that needs a cool breeze to fade away.
