Brian Jarman was born on in farm in Mid-Wales, the joint youngest of five brothers. After studying in London, Paris and Cardiff he joined the South Wales Argus as a reporter and then worked for the BBC for 22 years, mainly as a current affairs editor at The World Service. In 2011 he published his first novel, The Missing Room. He's now Senior Lecturer in journalism at London Metropolitan University.
