Part Two
Four years later, Aggie and Greg settle into their life, building their farm together. What greater joy than anticipating the birth of their first child?
Everyone said how they lucky they were to have such a good baby; it must be Aggie's mothering skills. But in her heart, Aggie felt only imposter syndrome--their son barely tolerated her touch, content when left alone.
No baby was this good. There must be something wrong.
The harmony of their marriage shatters as Aggie persists with her instinct that not all was well with their son Tensions reach the breaking point as their "good baby" morphs into a tyrant.
"It's just a stage he's going through," others said. Greg bought into it; Aggie didn't. Even if her husband refused to see their son was different, Aggie followed her heart.
Is their growing a rift too large to scale? Is there something wrong with their child?
In this deeply moving continuation of their story, Greg and Aggie must confront their fears and differences to find common ground. As they navigate the complexities of parenting a child with special needs, can they learn to lean on each other once again, finding resilience and strength as partners?
Will their love endure the trials they face, and can they find a way to support their son together? Join Greg and Aggie in this heartfelt tale of acceptance, understanding, and the unbreakable ties of family.
Dr. Sharon A. Mitchell lives on a farm, with her nearest neighbor several miles away. Doesn't that seem like the ideal setting to spark the imagination? She takes long walks with her hundred-pound German Shepherd dogs, Pickles and Dill. (She didn't name them - don't blame her). The Farmers of Goodrich County is a series of clean and wholesome romances set in a western small town, farming region. She's working on her eighth psychological thriller novel for the When Bad Things Happen series. Besides two, three short stories tied to that series, and bonus material at the end of many of the books, she's written six novels, each featuring an autistic child or young adult. Two nonfiction books accompany that autism series. Sharon's been a teacher, counselor, psychologist and consultant for decades and continues to teach university classes to soon-to-be teachers and administrators.
