Although a native to Salt Lake City, Holland grew up in and calls Columbia, Missouri home. As a former college football and lacrosse player, Holland knows the ins and outs of athletic conditioning and preparation. But because he grew up overweight, he also knows the ins and outs that come with being the "fat kid". It wasn't until after he graduated from the University of Missouri with Bachelors of Journalism and Master of Arts degrees that he finally "put it all together" to lose the weight and get in shape. He wrote The Fat Trainer to help everyone achieve what took him a lifetime to do. He has been training since 2004 and is certified with the National Academy of Sports Medicine and the National Exercise and Sports Trainers Association. When he's not writing awesome fitness books, Holland works as a personal trainer, does marketing and spends every other spare minute with his wife, Jennifer and sons, Ethan and Darin in the Salt Lake City area.
