And that's assuming there is a normal family dynamic to begin with. It seems like the innocence of childhood and growing up are things of the past. We are so much a product of our environment, and at times we neglect to understand what people go through emotionally and spiritually. We have become a society that has learned to hide what is really going on inside. What goes on in the mind stays hidden for years and decades for some, 'til one day they find themselves in therapy, on prescription medication, or self-medicating in whatever way they can find. I've looked back into my story, the possibilities of how a broken childhood grew into a broken adulthood, but once finding hope, translating that hope into a journey towards what life could and should be.
