The First and Last (Paperback) (ISBN-13: 9798699729616)

To defend her god's life, she must unite a fortress. Before it's too late.

As newly-installed First Custodian, only Terese Saarg has the power to protect her god from the Darkness's infection. But in a land where the Custodians are long forgotten, none trust her. When HopeWall's leaders ignore her dire warnings, Terese must take everyone's defence into her own hands.

Paan has resisted his uncontrollable ability for years, fearing he may accidentally kill more innocents. But if he doesn't learn to harness and control the turbulent power that ruined his life and killed those he loved, HopeWall is doomed.

Following her destructive battle with the Night Princess, Terese prepares for the Darkness's next assault as the fortress of HopeWall changes beyond recognition. When demonic saboteurs and etheric observers intrude, Terese and Paan must create and conceal her greatest gamble yet: A defence strategy unused for thousands of years.

If Terese can't pull HopeWall's competing people together, Polis Sumad will die.
