The Fivefold and the Eldership (Paperback) (ISBN-13: 9781967006267)

"And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;"

- Ephesians 4:11 (KJV)

What if the Church has been functioning with only part of the leadership Christ intended?

In Ephesians 4, the Apostle Paul describes five ministries given by Christ to equip the Church: apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers. Yet many churches today emphasize only a portion of these gifts while overlooking others.

In this deeply researched and pastorally grounded work, Bishop Antonio M. Palmer examines the biblical vision of church leadership and explores how historical developments-from the Constantinian era to colonial missions-reshaped the structure of the Church.

Drawing on Scripture, global theological voices, and contemporary ministry practice, this book presents a compelling case for recovering the fivefold ministry as a vital expression of the Church's mission today.

Ideal for pastors, church leaders, seminary students, and apostolic networks, this book provides both theological insight and practical tools for developing leaders in the body of Christ.
