Adaptation of the book is the film The Food of the Gods, produced by American International Pictures in 1976, directed by Bert I. Gordon. In 1989, another movie Gnaw: Food of the Gods, part 2 loosely related to the novel. The food of the gods was first adapted in comics in January 1961 by Classics Illustrated 160 with a cover by Gerald McCann and illustrations by Tony Tallarico.
