Purnima Shahani is a Prosthodontist (Specialist Restorative Dentist) currently in private practice in the Shenandoah Valley (Harrisonburg, Virginia). She was born in Trinidad & Tobago and credits her fascination with language to the country of her birth, where sound, imagination, metaphor, double entendre and liberal humour (often bawdy!) are inherent in everyday communication. She has been a student of Kundalini Yoga, as Taught by Yogi Bhajan, since 1992. In 1993, she had the grace and privilege to sit at Yogi Bhajan's feet and receive her spiritual name directly from his lips: 'Siri Amrita Kaur'. She is a certified Kundalini Yoga Instructor in this lineage. She teaches classes, workshops and annual international KY retreats.
