Marilyn Burwell is the great-granddaughter of William & Elizabeth Hancock. William was a Cornish miner who brought his family to Georgetown, Colorado, in 1874. Members of the family lived in Georgetown from 1874 through 1926. The author is a retired Librarian, who has been researching Georgetown's history for ten years. She & her husband currently live in Bend, Oregon.
