The Ghost of Gordon's Bay is a thrilling coming-of-age adventure novel that takes readers on an unforgettable journey filled with suspense and mystery. The story follows Frank, a brave and determined fifteen-year-old boy who moves to Gordon's Bay with his father after losing his mother to cancer. Despite being unhappy with the move, Frank soon makes new friends in Chloe, Jake, and Mia, and together they embark on a dangerous mission to uncover the town's secrets.
As the group delves deeper into their investigation, they hear stories of urban legends and abalone smugglers that pique their interest. They witness the White Cross event, a mysterious occurrence that hints at a dark past, and start interviewing locals, including a fisherman named Joe at the harbor. Joe gives them more details about the legends and directs them towards a hidden cove and caves. Despite the danger, they continue their search, but the discovery of a ghost ship only adds to the mystery.
Meanwhile, Steven Robertson, Frank's father, is a senior detective investigating the abalone smugglers. He is joined by Lucy, who has recently separated from her husband, Gideon Bateman, a businessman with a dark secret. As Steven and his team make progress in their investigation, they discover that one of the ringleaders of the smuggling operation is Elijah, who married Katherine and had a daughter Sasha.
Frank's love for Sasha puts him in danger as Elijah does not approve of their relationship. Heartbroken, Frank meets Mila, a newcomer to the area, and they become friends. Together, they continue where Frank, Chloe, Jake, and Mia left the search after the holiday and make quick progress in finding the secret caves, tunnels, and smugglers' cove. However, they are caught and taken prisoner.
Lucy and Steven discover that Frank is missing and continue their investigation. Meanwhile, Sasha convinces her father to turn his life around and make a deal with the police to expose the smuggling ring and save the children in exchange for immunity and a new identity. The operation is executed successfully, and the children are saved. JohnnyB, one kingpin of the smuggling ring, is captured and swears to take revenge.
During the ordeal, Frank discovers he has a powerful gift similar to his mother's, which allows him to see and experience visions. As the smugglers are dealt with and JohnnyB is in prison, Steven is relocated to Kimberley, Lucy goes back to her estranged husband to finalize their divorce, and Frank stays with his grandparents while waiting for his father to create a new life for them. However, Frank's newfound gift is not something he can ignore as he starts to explore and understand his powers. One vision he experience is to see Sasha again.
The Ghost of Gordon's Bay is a poignant tale of love, loss, and self-discovery that explores themes of family, friendship, and loyalty while touching on issues of crime and corruption. Some ghosts may be real. You will have to find out. The vivid descriptions of the South African landscape make readers feel as if they are right there with Frank and his friends, experiencing the beauty and danger of the region. With its suspenseful scenes and mysterious twists, this book is sure to captivate readers until the very end.

Most authentic book compilation on the Oregon Trail I ever read. The way the diaries are brought to life from over 170 years ago is a remarkable achievement. Top book of year so far for me for today June 01, 2024 review Candice
This author is a breathe of fresh air in a world of lies and coverups. He brings ancient writings and new science to bring light to mankind. In this amazing work, the well known plato stories from antiquity are now put alongside this new discovery of tablets from beginning of time. This is the most complete explanation of Atlantis every brought to the public. Shame on the governments of Egypt and the world for hiding WHO BUILT THE PHYRAMIDS OF GIZA AND THE SPHINX. Once I read this book I knew why they hid this knowledge. They don't want a population to know how great the world used to be compared to know.
Randomly stumbled upon this book and I am shocked that I haven’t heard about it before. It’s hands down the best story I’ve read in years. People need to read this book. It needs to be turned into a book. This story is just plain awsome. M
This soulful book of personal poetry brought me into the past and into the present---and into my heart.
Read the first book and this 2nd one did not disappoint! Loved every chapter. More please!
